Repair and strengthening of building structures: TEKNOWRAP carbon fabric and TEKNOBOND 300 TIX adhesive

In the video we will show a modern way of strengthening and reinforcing building structures with Teknowrap carbon fabric and Teknobond 300 Tix epoxy adhesive. Using the carbon reinforcement system is ideal for:

  • increasing the load-bearing capacity of structures, i.e. improving their durability and reliability
  • to improve the seismic resistance of stone and concrete walls, arches and beams
  • to increase the strength and stability of columns
  • to correct design and construction errors

We will talk about the technical characteristics of the materials, show how to properly perform external reinforcement of the column using carbon fibers and Teknobond 300 Tix epoxy glue.

Teknowrap Carbon Fabric is a high-strength unidirectional carbon fiber fabric that is 14 times more tensile resistant than steel. When laminated with Teknobond 300 Tix epoxy adhesive, the fabric becomes rigid.

Teknowrap 220 carbon fibers:

Density: 220 g/m2

Modulus of elasticity: 220,000 MPa

Fabric tensile strength: 4,900 MPa

Fabric elongation at break: 2.1%

Roll length: 100 m

Width: 50 m

Fiber thickness: 0.17 mm

Teknowrap 300 carbon fibers:

Density: 300 g/m2

Modulus of elasticity: 230,000 MPa

Fabric tensile strength: 4,900 MPa

Fabric elongation at break: 2.1%

Roll length: 100 m

Width: 50 m

Fiber thickness: 0.17 mm

Teknobond 300 Tix epoxy adhesive is a solvent-free epoxy resin-based carbon fiber adhesive.

The adhesion of the adhesive to concrete is: 4 N/mm²

Bending strength: 40 N/mm²

Compressive strength: 80 N/mm²

Adhesive peel strength: 30 MPa

Material consumption: 1-1.5 kg/m²

The system for professional repair and strengthening of concrete and reinforced concrete structures can be used:

  • when redeveloping premises: to reinforce floor slabs, walls and openings in building structures
  • when restoring walls and structures that have been subjected to extreme loads or the effects of emergencies, such as accidents, fires or natural disasters, which often lead to damage to concrete, the appearance of cracks and a general weakening of the strength of structures.

Restoration of concrete and reinforced concrete structures requires special attention and effective solutions.
