When is sealing of plastic windows necessary? 

At the stage of window frame installation, it is important to qualitatively seal all seams and joints between the frame and the opening. However, sealing is also possible if the window installation was carried out in violation of the sealing technology, microcracks, seams, etc. have appeared, or when the service life of the materials has expired and they need to be renewed.  

Insufficient insulation of the installation seam can significantly reduce the effective service life of the window structure. This creates the conditions for a number of problems, including:

• Condensation and mold - due to moisture penetration, the glass may "fog up", which over time causes the development of fungus or even freezing during the cold season.
• Drafts and heat loss – gaps in the seam can cause uncontrolled drafts, reducing the comfortable temperature in the room.
• Frame deformation - a violation of sealing can lead to displacement or skewing of the structure, which complicates its operation.

If the problem is not addressed at an early stage, simple repair of the defect may not be possible. In the worst case, expensive repairs or even complete replacement of the window unit will be required.

Sealants for window installation. Proflex window sealing system for external and internal use

During the installation of plastic windows, the joint between the frame and the window opening is blown with mounting foam, which is an excellent heat insulator. But the foam is sensitive to atmospheric influences, including ultraviolet, moisture, wind, and over time it can simply crumble. If the foam sealing after the installation of the windows is not performed, or is performed incorrectly, then every year the possibility of deterioration of the thermal insulation properties of metal-plastic structures increases. Therefore, it is correct to use a special sealant after installing the window, which will become a layer of protection for the mounting foam and will take on all negative atmospheric influences. 

The system for professional window sealing consists of two types of materials:

Profflex A is a one-component acrylate sealant with high vapor permeability. The sealant is intended for performing the outer layer of the assembly joint in accordance with DSTU-N B V.2.6-146:2010 with an allowable deformation of the assembly joint of no more than 15% for sealing the outer contour of window, door and balcony structures. 

High-quality acrylic sealant Profflex A is designed for wrapping slopes on windows, doors and balcony blocks from the outside. 

Profflex B is a one-component sealant with high vapor permeability on an acrylic basis. The sealant is designed for sealing the internal contour of window, door and balcony structures with an allowable deformation of the assembly seam of no more than 15%.

Window installation sealants are supplied in 7 kg buckets, or for your convenience, we also have 600 ml packaging.

Proflex A and B sealants are a white, paste-like, one-component acrylate material, ready to use. It is very easy to work with.

Mold protection TEKNO ANTI KUF

Performing technologically correct window sealing in combination with the use of Tekno Antikuf blocking paint will avoid and prevent the formation of mold inside and outside the room. 

How to use Profflex A | Profflex B sealants?

You can use the sealant at any time of the year, the main thing is that the surface is not damp. The sealant consumption is approximately 100 grams per linear meter.
