Teknobond 110 S is a one-component, ready-to-use, special polymer-modified, solvent-based primer. It is mainly used for the preparation of concrete and mineral surfaces before applying polyurethane coatings, waterproofing, adhesives and other finishing materials.
The primer penetrates deeply into the porous structure of concrete and mineral base, impregnates and strengthens the top layer, reduces water absorption and ensures high adhesion of the subsequent coating.
Scope of application
Teknobond 110 S is recommended for use:
-
as a primer for polyurethane coatings;
-
before applying polyurethane waterproofing;
-
to strengthen surfaces that are dusty or flaking;
-
to increase the wear resistance of mineral surfaces;
-
to improve the adhesion of polyurethane coatings to the substrate;
-
for impregnation of concrete and other mineral surfaces;
-
before applying adhesives and coatings to concrete, wood and other absorbent substrates;
-
for filling pores of aerated concrete and similar porous surfaces.
-
as a primer for bitumen surfaces before applying polyurethane waterproofing coatings, particularly in roofing systems.
Properties and benefits
Teknobond 110 S:
-
single-component and ready to use;
-
transparent;
-
contains solvent;
-
penetrates deeply into concrete and mineral substrates;
-
impregnates and strengthens the top layer of concrete;
-
increases adhesion of subsequent coatings;
-
does not form a regular film, but forms a strong chemical bond between the base and the subsequent material;
-
reduces water absorption of concrete;
-
fills non-structural capillary cracks;
-
fills the pores of aerated concrete and other porous surfaces;
-
quick and easy to apply;
-
resistant to salt water and saline solutions, alkalis, diluted acids, aliphatic solvents, gasoline and mineral oils.
Surface preparation
Concrete and plastered surfaces must be aged for at least 28 days.
The substrate must be completely dry, sound and free of dust, old paint, loose and flaking particles, oils, grease, rust, detergents and other contaminants that may reduce adhesion.
The humidity of the concrete surface before application must be below 4%.
Cracks, sinkholes and other defects must be repaired beforehand with appropriate TEKNOREP cementitious repair materials or TEKNOBOND 400 epoxy repair materials.
Application method
Teknobond 110 S is a one-component ready-made material, so there is no need to add other components or mixtures to it.
The required amount of primer is poured into a clean container and applied to the prepared surface with a brush or short-pile roller in a thin, even layer.
Depending on the porosity and structure of the surface, it is applied in 1 or 2 layers.
If two coats are required, the second coat should be applied while the first coat is still tacky and not completely dry. Applying the second coat too early or too late may adversely affect the coating system.
Important when using
Teknobond 110 S contains solvent and is flammable. Open flames and smoking are not allowed during application.
Work must be carried out outdoors or in rooms with sufficient ventilation.
The material should be applied in a thin layer. An excessively thick layer may cause foaming.
Before applying the next coat, it is necessary to wait for the solvent to completely evaporate. After application, the primer must be protected from water, rain and frost.
