Granito Wall is a cement-based coating material enriched with chemical additives that can be used for a variety of decorative structures.
Microcement is a dry mix of cement and finely ground quartz sand. A polymer solution serves as the mixing agent, imparting high adhesion, compressive strength, and flexural strength to the coating.
Microcement decorative plaster is widely used in residential and commercial finishing, as it creates a smooth, seamless, highly durable surface that is resistant to damage.
It is used to decorate:
- kitchen backsplashes;
- walls and ceilings;
- areas around bathtubs, sinks, and shower stalls;
- furniture and decorative elements such as countertops, columns, shelving, and niches.
Microcement looks particularly attractive in interiors with brutalist styles, such as lofts, as it creates the effect of bare walls made of untreated concrete. However, thanks to its ability to create various textures, such as marble and natural stone, it can also be used in classic designs.
Properties of Microcement Plaster
Microcement plaster has a number of unique properties that make it unlike any other finishing material:
- Excellent adhesion. It spreads and hardens perfectly on surfaces made of various materials, with the exception of glass and metal, which require adhesive treatment before plastering for better adhesion.
- Minimum layer thickness. The total thickness of the finished finish does not exceed 2-4 mm.
- High strength. Due to the presence of cement and sand in the plaster mortar, the material becomes as hard as stone after hardening, while additional fillers make it moisture-resistant and resistant to mechanical damage and abrasion.
- Stylish and modern appearance. Microcement plaster can be tinted in various shades with special pigments and looks chic in interiors of various styles.
- Environmentally friendly. The composition is free of chlorides and other hazardous ingredients, so it does not cause allergic reactions during application and is suitable for interior finishing.
- Moisture resistance. Its resistance to atmospheric influences and water makes it suitable for use in areas with high humidity, such as kitchens and bathrooms.
- Easy application.
Finally, this material allows for a professional-looking finish, even when applied by an amateur, without the need for expensive professional tools.
Microconcrete has many advantages over conventional concrete. These include:
- Low permeability, making it suitable for use outdoors, as well as in kitchens and bathrooms;
- Good adhesion to virtually any surface;
- Hardens almost immediately after application;
- Contains no chlorides, making it safe and durable;
- Will not shrink during application, ensuring the absence of cracks and folds.
The application process consists of several steps:
- A 1-2 mm thick base coat is applied to a pre-prepared surface, cleaned of dirt and dust, using a standard trowel, using the continuous filler method.
- The base is leveled and smoothed with a special Venetian trowel, simultaneously creating the desired relief and sanding until perfectly smooth (if necessary).
- After the base coat has completely dried, an additional layer of paste of the same thickness is applied, which is also smoothed and/or sanded (a sander or abrasive can be used). The second layer creates a texture or pattern.
- The dried surface is primed and coated with a protective compound using a wide roller.
- It is used in decorative design for finishing walls and ceilings, both indoors and outdoors. After application and drying, it can be sanded and sealed with Teknocila 300 varnish if necessary.
- It can be applied to mineral surfaces such as plaster, concrete, old painted surfaces, gypsum plaster, and drywall after cleaning and priming with Teknolatex 200.
The material dries quickly, requires no special tools, and the finished product is aesthetically pleasing due to its seamless appearance.
How is microconcrete used?
Microconcrete can be used in both residential and commercial properties. It has been used for items such as kitchen countertops and shelving, as it provides a seamless, durable, and modern finish.
It is durable and easy to apply to any interior or exterior surface, making it an excellent choice for those looking to add an affordable, wearable concrete look to ceilings or walls. It's also waterproof, making it ideal for bathroom and kitchen sink surrounds, adding exclusive design elements and a contemporary finish.
Finally, this versatile product is available in a variety of textures, tones, and colors.
