Needle-punched geotextiles are materials used in geotechnical engineering to reinforce soil and protect against erosion. They are produced by passing polymer fibers through needles that perforate the material, creating thousands of holes. This makes the geotextile stronger and more resistant to tearing and wear. They can be used for slope reinforcement, soil erosion protection, drainage systems, and to create filtration barriers and separation layers.
Needle-punched geotextiles are used in various industries where soil protection and erosion prevention are required. Some examples of needle-punched geotextile applications include:
1. Slope and river and lake bank reinforcement: Needle-punched geotextiles are used to reinforce and protect slopes and banks from erosion and soil washout.
2. Drainage systems: Needle-punched geotextiles are used in drainage systems to protect and filter the drainage system from soil and debris.
3. Road and airfield construction: Needle-punched geotextiles can be used to strengthen the base of roads and airfields and prevent the destruction of the base.
4. Pipeline protection: Needle-punched geotextiles can be used to protect pipelines from corrosion and mechanical damage.
5. Vegetation protection: Needle-punched geotextiles can be used to create barriers that protect against vegetation.
These are just some examples of needle-punched geotextile applications, it can be used in many other industries where soil protection and erosion prevention are required.
- Density 100-150 g/m² - in the case of arranging lawns, decorative reservoirs, for separating the layers of soil-crushed stone-screening-sand, drainage systems, blind areas, inversion roofs (protective geomembrane), garden paths, sports fields with artificial turf, sports fields with natural grass, slopes.
- Density 180-200 g/m² - during the construction of foundations, sidewalks, artificial reservoirs, for the protection of waterproofing membranes, during the organization of drainage systems, as a separating layer of soil-crushed stone-screening-sand, road works, parking lots, roadbed, slopes, shelter for heat-loving plants.
- Density 250 g/m² – Construction of building foundations, during paving of paving slabs, Construction of parking lots, during construction of roads for passenger cars, for strengthening slopes, hydraulic works, artificial reservoirs, reservoirs, drainage.
- Density 300 g/m² – during construction of highways, highways, roads for freight and technological transport, parking lots with heavy machinery, general purpose roads, such as a reinforcing layer during strengthening of embankments and slopes, as a protective layer during laying of geomembranes, PVC membranes, geogrids.
The main advantages of geotextiles are: ease of installation, environmental friendliness, affordable cost, strength, versatility, durability.
