Teknomer 205 is a two-component, elastic, cement-based waterproofing material modified with a polymer emulsion and special additives. It can be applied to pre-moistened and moisture-saturated concrete and cement surfaces, which makes the material especially effective for foundations, basements, tanks, swimming pools and other structures where a completely dry base is not available.
Designed for reliable protection of concrete, reinforced concrete and cement surfaces from water penetration, surface and groundwater. Used for both interior and exterior work.
After mixing the powder component with the polymer emulsion, a highly elastic seamless coating is formed, which adheres perfectly to the base, covers small cracks and provides long-term protection of structures from moisture.
Teknomer 205 does not require the addition of water, does not shrink, does not crack and can be applied by hand or airless spray. The material protects concrete from carbonation, chloride penetration, exposure to seawater, carbon dioxide and salts used to combat ice.
Due to the absence of toxic and corrosive components, waterproofing can be used in drinking water tanks.
Advantages
-
two-component cement-polymer system;
-
fully elastic coating;
-
does not require adding water;
-
high adhesion to concrete and cement substrates;
-
covers small cracks;
-
does not shrink or crack;
-
protects concrete from carbonation;
-
high resistance to chloride ions;
-
resistance to sea water and NaCl and CaCl₂ salts;
-
suitable for drinking water tanks;
-
does not contain toxic substances;
-
manual or mechanized application;
-
long working time after mixing;
-
for indoor and outdoor use.
Scope of application
Teknomer 205 is recommended for waterproofing:
-
foundations;
-
retaining walls;
-
basements;
-
concrete structures;
-
water tanks;
-
drinking water tanks;
-
swimming and decorative pools;
-
SPA complexes and hammams;
-
terrace (with protective coating);
-
balconies;
-
bathrooms;
-
showers;
-
bathrooms;
-
residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Preparing the base
The substrate must be strong, clean, even and free of dust, grease, oil, cement laitance, paint, rust and other contaminants.
All defects, cracks and sinkholes must be repaired with TEKNOREP repair compounds.
Dry surfaces must be thoroughly moistened before application to a state of matte-damp concrete without stagnant water.
It is recommended to round off sharp corners with TEKNOREP 300 repair compound, and to use TEKNOMER waterproofing tapes in the junctions.
Preparing the mixture
Gradually pour 25 kg of the powder component into a container with 10 liters of polymer emulsion.
Mix with a low-speed mixer (up to 500 rpm) until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained.
After mixing, let the mixture stand for 2–5 minutes, then mix again for 1–2 minutes.
Attention! Adding water or any foreign components is prohibited.
Application method
The material is applied:
-
with a brush;
-
roller;
-
spatula;
-
by spraying method.
Waterproofing must be applied in 2 layers.
The second layer is applied perpendicular to the first after its initial hardening (after approximately 5–6 hours, depending on the temperature).
The recommended total coating thickness is 2–3 mm.
When applying to cement screeds, it is recommended to use an elastic reinforcing mesh between layers.
It is recommended to apply tiles, plaster or protective screed 3 days after completion of waterproofing work.
Precautions
-
do not apply to metal, wood, PVC, plywood, chipboard or MDF;
-
do not add water;
-
do not mix with other materials;
-
protect the fresh coating from rain, frost, strong wind and direct sunlight;
-
After hardening, cleaning is only possible mechanically.
