PROFFLEX PU40 is a high-quality, neutral, elastic, one-component polyurethane-based construction joint sealant and adhesive.
Applications:
• All types of sealing and bonding in the construction industry;
• Structural bonding in vibrating structures;
• Sealing contraction joints in concrete floors;
• Bonding roof tiles
Substrates: All common building substrates, metals, and polyesters.
• Environment: Rigid, clean, dry, and free of dust and grease.
• Surface preparation: Apply Primer 100 to porous substrates. Prepare non-porous surfaces with a primer or cleaner.
• No adhesion to PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®), and bituminous substrates. We recommend a preliminary adhesion and compatibility test on each surface.
PROFFLEX PU40 can be overpainted with most water-based paints; however, due to the wide variety of paints and varnishes available, we recommend a compatibility test before application.
PROFFLEX PU40 has good UV resistance, but may discolor under extreme conditions or after prolonged exposure to UV rays.
A compatibility test is recommended before use. Avoid contact with butyl, tar, or other materials that release plasticizers, such as EPDM rubber, neoprene, bottles, etc., as this may cause discoloration and loss of adhesion.
Do not apply or cure in the presence of uncured silicone sealants, alcohol, or other solvent-based cleaners.
When using different reactive joint sealants, the first joint sealant must be fully cured before applying the next.
