Granito Travertino - Decorative cement-based coating enriched with chemical additives. Designed to create various design effects in the interior.
Areas of application
- Objects: Decorative decoration of walls and ceilings inside the premises.
- Surface types: Rough plaster, concrete, old painted surfaces.
- Gypsum bases: After priming with Granito Astar, it can be applied to gypsum plaster and drywall.
- Special areas: Suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, provided that the instructions for surface protection are followed.
Advantages and features
- Aesthetics: Perfect imitation of natural stone.
- Integrity: In combination with Granito Floor material, it allows you to create a single design of walls and floors.
- Convenience: Can be applied over the existing coating without dismantling it. Creates a seamless surface.
- Reliability: Combines mineral strength and elasticity.
- Comfort: Allows walls to "breathe" (vapor permeable), but does not let water in. When using Granito Cila varnish, it becomes completely waterproof.
- Personalization: Easily tinted with pigments suitable for cement systems.
Application instructions
1. Surface preparation:
- The substrate must be dry, sound and free from dust, dirt and grease.
- Old, flaking paint must be completely removed.
- Important: New mineral surfaces must be allowed to cure (withstand a curing period) for at least 28 days.
- Old synthetic coatings must be sanded thoroughly and dust removed.
- Fill cracks with a repair compound (e.g. Teknorep 200).
2. Mixing the mixture:
- Use a low-speed drill with a mixer.
- Pour water into a bucket. If you plan to tint, add the pigment to the water first.
- Gradually pour in the powder, stirring until smooth.
- Let the solution “ripen” for 1–3 minutes, then stir again.
3. Application process:
- Applied with a metal trowel in 2 or 3 layers (with a waiting period between layers).
- Total coating thickness: 2–4 mm.
- The pattern (texture) is created with a metal or effect trowel.
- To obtain a shine, the surface can be “pressed” with a spatula while wet or sanded after drying.
4. Finishing stage:
After completing the work, the entire surface is covered with Granito Cila protective varnish according to the purpose of the room.
Notes on use and restrictions
- Protection: After application, the surface must be protected from contact with water for 24 hours.
- Care: It is forbidden to use abrasive products to clean the finished coating.
- Ceramics: When applying over ceramic tiles, it is mandatory to use a reinforcing mesh.
