Teknomer 400 BE is a cold anionic bitumen emulsion for priming surfaces before applying bitumen waterproofing, creating a moisture barrier on mineral substrates, and also for use as a release material for formwork.
The material does not contain solvents, is non-flammable and non-combustible, and is easily applied by brush, roller or airless spray. It can be applied to slightly damp surfaces.
Teknomer 400 BE is used for foundations, basements, foundation and retaining walls, as well as mineral surfaces in direct contact with the soil.
Scope of application
Teknomer 400 BE is used:
-
as a bitumen primer before applying bitumen waterproofing;
-
as a moisture-retaining and moisture-protective barrier for basement walls and foundation walls;
-
for protection against moisture of mineral surfaces in contact with the soil;
-
for concrete and cement bases;
-
as a release agent (lubricant) for formwork. To facilitate the separation of formwork from concrete.
Advantages of Teknomer 400 BE
-
cold application;
-
anionic bitumen emulsion;
-
does not contain solvents;
-
does not ignite or ignite;
-
Application to slightly damp surfaces is allowed;
-
application by brush, roller or airless spray;
-
suitable for preparing the base for bitumen waterproofing;
-
can be used to protect mineral surfaces from moisture.
Surface preparation
The surface must be sound and free of dust, dirt, grease, rust, formwork oil, detergents and other substances that may interfere with adhesion.
Cracks, sinkholes, depressions and other defects in the substrate must be repaired with appropriate TEKNOREP repair mixtures before application.
Despite the possibility of applying the material to a slightly damp base, there should be no accumulations or stagnation of water on the surface.
Method of application
Before using Teknomer 400 BE, it must be mixed with a low-speed mixer - 500–600 rpm.
The material is applied:
-
with a brush;
-
roller;
-
by airless spraying method.
Do not apply the material during rain. After application, the surface must be protected from rain and other adverse weather conditions until complete drying.
The consumption of Teknomer 400 BE depends on the absorption capacity and porosity of the substrate.
Approximate consumption: 0.4–0.5 kg/m² per layer.
Storage
Teknomer 400 BE must be protected from freezing. Do not leave the packaging in direct sunlight.
Recommended storage temperature: from +10 °C to +35 °C.
Shelf life is 6 months if recommended conditions are met.
